Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, and red blends...and ever since Rasty pointed out that Chardonnay isn't sweet...Chardonnay.

My sister told me about ice wine last year. Anyone ever tried it? It would probably be too sweet for me.Lost in the right direction.

Here is a topic in which I cannot relate. I never drank alcohol for the taste. I drank it for a different reason. As such, I would drink whiskey straight out of the bottle. I started when I was 10 and quit when I was 19. Again, I know my place in life. Some claim to do it wrong. I do.
I case anyone is wondering, I do not condemn those that partake, nor am I tempted by the conversation. I am pig headed enough that such conversations don't effect me. I do read them with curiosity though. There are so many worlds out there. I am sure most people thing us weird because we hike and blog about it.

Eiswein (Ice Wine) is fairly expensive and very sweet. It is mostly made from Riesling which is intentionally allowed to freeze then picked and squeezed while frozen which leaves the water behind.Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

Dry red. (PN, CS, Chianti)
One advantage of being a beer snob is that I can enjoy cheap crappy wine (can't do that with beer). -

I am forced to try 100+ wines each month by my employer. I'm thinking about filing a complaint.

We did the wine tasting trail pretty often when we lived in upstate NY, our favorites were relatively inexpensive wines from Bully Hill, didn't like the more expensive wines (guess I have bad taste)...really liked the Bully Hill labels, the wife made some nice canvas paintings of them.I may grow old but I'll never grow up.

Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon. It's been my favorite for several decades now. Costco carries it now, usually around $11 per bottle.
If that brand isn't available, some other Cabernet from Napa valley or Australia. (But not Chile.)
I can't get past the green bell pepper taste on Chilean cabernet sauvignon. They need to stick to malbec.Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

Can't say I have a favorite, but one kind I do like is spiced wine.
I only find it around Christmas time and you can even serve the stuff warm.
When we were doing sections of the AT in Vermont we picked up a bottle of blueberry wine.
It was kind of a nice change. -
I agree! I love warm spiced holiday wine during the holidays! This winery is not far from me and Ive been there quite a few times! I always pick up a few bottles any time of the year!
