Ever stay at a PATC Cabin?

Anyone ever stay at a PATC cabin (Potomac Appalachian Trail Club)?

I slept on the porch of one in the SNP one night. Does that count? A hiking buddy, "Danger", and I were hiking the AT from Harper's Ferry into the SNP and we came across one of the cabins, locked of course, late in the day when it was supposed to storm. We decided to sleep on the covered porch.

As they say sometimes, the trail will provide.

I ran into that a few years ago on my SNP section. Three times in three days I walked up to a shelter about 30 seconds before a torrential thunderstorm let loose. If you remember the flooding in WV a few years ago, it was those storms.

2013 it rained everyday for my first three weeks starting out of Hot Springs, NC. Needless to say the trail did not always provide for me there.

At least it was usually afternoon showers instead of all day monsoon type. I have to admit it was nice the first day I woke up with dry shoes.
