When I came home in 2013 I thought I had a stress fracture in left foot, but after going to the foot doctor, fortunately it was just bruised tissue. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

update from the trail. We are having a blast even though water is very scarce in north east Tennessee. There is a new hostel called Boots Off just south of Watauga lake. Very nice. Big climb tomorrow and we have cold beer to drink tonight. All is well as we continue to do it all wrong."Dazed and Confused"

On second thought, if you can make it to early next week...you may have more water than ya want. -

Phone service has been crappy but we are having a blast. Hiked the last two days in the rain. 17.4 miles yesterday and 20.2 today all in the rain with winds of 40 mph. Fantastic views on the balds on the way to the barn at Overmountain barn a couple of days ago. Drying out and soaking up cold beer tonight."Dazed and Confused"

Next Mormon' out side the tent I hear my buddy Laughlin'
Me "What's up"
He "check this out"
I crawl outta the tent and see him pointing up in the air, I'm looking for an airplane, "what"?
He says "there, right there"
On the tree was a sign that read.
NO Camping
NO Fires
NO Alcohol

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.
