I learned that they use the northern pronounciation of "Appalachian" in the UK. But I guess that makes sense since they are very far north.

My attempt at the AT was in April 2013. That same month my sister was on a trip around Ireland. On one of the tours, the tour guide was talking about the IAT in Ireland and she was suitably impressed when my sister told her that I was backpacking the AT. -

Its a sample of salt from around the Earth. All of it table salt, but it also has different colors and different other minerals in it.--
