Starting and finishing from Damascus as a loop what would be the total distance for this loop? Thinking about going this weekend.

i would suggest going NOBO out of damascus on the IT then back SOBO on AT. you can park at my place if you want

41 miles according to "Trekking the Southern Appalachians" book. I'm planning to do it some time in the near future.

are you talkin' the tennessee sections of AT/IM ? the VA section of the AT loop is 40 miles and 20+ IT miles

LS I'll be in Damascus late afternoon today. Planning on staying at the Hiker Inn and start hiking tomorrow. Maybe we can meet at the BB Cafe for a beer.

Yes, TN section is what I'm looking at. Glad you mentioned there's a longer option, I'll probably do that instead.
