A while ago I bought Alltrail map program. What I didn't know was it was a subscription requiring net access. Nice part is I can do TI/Nat Geo maps, topo & sat pics of the US in any scale & save them as PDFs. Being laid off I have ample free time so if you need a map for planning a trip pm me with area/trail/ scale/type(s) prefered etc. & give me an email address & I will be happy to make them for you. I have most of TI for AT done it covers Amicoloah to just North of Shenendoah, VT, most of NH & some ME. Just let me know what you need & be happy to do it.

I sense your frustration MM, I too went that route three years ago with Trails.com and it was a bit of a waste... What I did to justify subscribing to a worthless (Dot)com was to gather every trail in a 2hour to three hour drive and print the hell out of it and I have a 3 ring binder with all the local stuff... didn't amount to much as most hikes on Trail.com are under 20 miles, the bulk is 5-10miles. The Irony was I had plan to quit after the first year and the deadline kicked in and it charged my Mac card for a second year!
Appears the software is giving you access to Nat Geo... not bad.Be wise enough to walk away from the nonsense around you! -
Yes full access to Nat Geo maps. Also easy to save same map in Nat Geo, Topo or Sat image to compare. I can save them all as PDF & custom make in various sizes from letter. legal, & size up to 6 page equivelent PDF. Being laid off & knee still bugging me gives me ample time to make maps during breaks while renovating Dad's cabin.

That's really cool of you MM. Do you think you can do anything with the AL/GA Pinhoti to the BMT to the AT at Springer.
I'll see what I can do. -

Its a terrific offer MM,
But I bit the bullet and got Backpacker Pro a few years back for the phone and its supported by Trimble Outdoors. The service is very much written by other backpackers sharing their trip logs and you can stuff them on the phone Even when you are states away from your home, I can look up trails just about anywhere... and put the GPX file on my phone or print a map - its been a half a year from the sprain so I am looking this all up again...

I like the NatGeo maps. I have a shoe box full of the maps I've purchased and saved from past trips. The detail and color are outstanding. It's fun to crack one open every now and then and look at the trails I've done and the ones that are still waiting

Still haven't digested all the ones you gave me when this place first opened. Going to have to get busy planning soon.Non hikers are about a psi shy of a legal ball. -
