Mt. Adams, eh...? Doesn't look so tough from my view here in the living room.
its all good -
Devil's Path is one of my all time favorite hikes. This year the maintainers laid some rock in the Corkscrew Chimney on Indian Head. There had been a dead tree there that gave a foothold, but it rotted away. Without that, the climb was in the 5.4-5.6 range, with a surprise exposure as the last mantel at the top put you on a knife edge with the chimney on one side and a 100 foot cliff on the other.
At the top, I said to myself, "wow, that was stupid, doing that without a top rope!" And that pitch has indeed killed hikers. I'm glad they removed that particular challenge. The trail is entirely challenging enough without it!I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

I can't argue with number 11.
Resident Australian, proving being a grumpy old man is not just an American trait. -

there are no "easy"routes up mt adams. its the highest/steepest elevation gain in the whites.the great gully trail is about 800 ft of nearly vertical hand over hand climbing. mahoosuc notch is known as the toughest mile on the entire a.t. the kings ravine trail makes the notch look easy, with over a mile of scrambling.its a beautiful, spectacular trail.

For once I'd just like to hear myself say, "Great job, self! Why don't you just take the day off." -
