i havent yet; i'm concerned that i may have driver issues with my no longer made 5 year old printer. plus microsoft history with other releases doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
haven't decided yet; but kinda leaning toward letting others go thru version 10.0 and letting them get the kinks out. but on the other hand i'm "tech support" for the kids machines and if they get it i probably need to understand it.2,000 miler -

I had issues when 7 came out, I was coming off of windows vista, ended buying a new computer which has run for about 4years now with minimal glitch, it is a cheap Acer model with minimal bells and whistles...just the way I like it and perfect for a momo like me so as to not have to many buttons to touch a screw things up.

The laptop I bought in late January has 8.1. Took some getting used to and I'm still not a huge fan, but I'll damn sure hold off on 10 for a while. As someone else mentioned, let Microsoft work out the glitches we all know will be in the first three releases.Do your duty in all things. I tried to unsubscribe from the windows 10 reservation, and followed the instruction but it didn't work, as I still see a windows icon where non existed before. Hopefully when the new version is out and ready to download it is not automatic and gives me the option to decline, er...I'm fuched.

I'm old skool when it comes to this kinda stuff. The fewer changes I have to make the happier I am. I've got Windows 8 and it does all I need so I'm not gonna mess with it.
I'm still waiting to see if the cell phone craze is going to last before I get one -
I defenestrated my computer a long time ago. (I threw out the Windows before I threw it out the windows.)I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here.

I signed up fpr it. I had to buy a new laptop in March when old one was threatening to die on me during Bike Week. I use it to much for work to be without. Came with Windows 8.1. They annouced the free upgrade to 10 & figured I would just jump up to it rather than learning something soon to be banished. if I don't like it I can always do a system restore from before I install it.
So far I'm not a big fan of windows 8. I don't particulally like everything on the cloud & it seems like they want you online for everything. If I want to relax for a few & play some freecell or mindsweep I'm fed up with the "you aren't signed in message" The other big drawback is living in the woods. Let's just say working at night in a buggy enviroment with a touch screen is not very compatible. -
I just read an article about this. They did say that old peripherals may not be supportrd. But they think it is an improvement over W8. They Sai W7 was good but Vista was a disaster. I have a very old computer that originally ran Vista and eventually became completely unustable. Upgrading to W7 got me several more years of use. But it is now having problems again and my printer is making some ugly noises. The article suggested people in my situation are better off getting a new computer rather than upgrading otherwise you won't get the advantages of the new OS. But they suggested waiting a few months so they have time to fix the bugs the find at rollout.

What gets me is when I go to buy an ink cartridge at WallyWorld, the new printers with ink are only about $5 more than the ink cartridge I need for my old printer. There ought to be a law."Dazed and Confused"

When My original Kindle Fire started acting funky I replaced it with a Samsung Tablet 7". I love it for portability. Sync with Outlook on my laptop, but can only run one funtion at a time, so I can't play music & do something else at same time. Not a big problem for me. I went with tablet over kindle because kindle didn't have a sd card slot. Having that allows me to add as much content as I like, mostly music & movies for a trip. I's only limited to size of SD Card. Down side was I couldn't get kindle prime vidios t play...not much of an issue considering how I live & debating renewing prime membership. I'd love to have a two in one comp, But Price wise it's just cheaper & more feasale to buy seperate for me.

When I got my first Vista computer, it told me I didn't have ermission to copy a text file from one folder to another folder. I blinked. And tried again. Then it told me I had to check with my administrator, which is me.
I almost tossed it out the window, but found a way to 'own' both folders then it allowed me to move the file.
I am typing on a WIn 8.1 laptop, but I really had the touch screens... this laptop doesn't have a touch screen. So the navigation on it could be much better.
Windows/MS does what it can, which is a great many things, to get me to switch to a version of linux.--

Yeah, the 'introductory' cartridges. It was done some years ago on ink jet printers, then the printer companies started doing it on laser printers.--
