I don't really want to but it appears I'll have to switch to a hammock because my back is killing me after a night on the ground. I've bought what appears to be the most comfortable pad (BA Insulated Q core SL) but it still doesn't work. After two week ends on the ground I had to see a chiropractor, he didn't help the back much but did help the shoulder that's been bothering me. I'm planning to do the Colorado Trail in August and trees may be hard to find at times, still trying to find a way to make a pad work in a hammock to give ground as an option in those cases. Anyone had the problem of sleeping on the ground and found a good solution?
I may grow old but I'll never grow up.
