The good news is both girls have asked for their packs and sleeping bags so I will be getting rid of some stuff. I'm giving my sister a pack also.
Does anyone hang their packs from nails? I'm wondering if hanging for possibly months will stretch the material.

Coach, I'm with you. In most cases my gear gets taken care of before anything else, even a shower.
My gear has taken over my closet and its a mess.
Do ya'll store your sleeping pads rolled or unrolled? Currently mine are folded.

Water treatment bags and filter get soaked first then washed with hot water and soap. I leave those out for several days to make sure they are dry before storing. Occasionally I use the syringe to clean the filter but not always.
edit: also, I occasionally soak in a bleach solution but not always

I bought a set of hanging "cubby holes" that I keep in my closet. I seem to be quickly outgrowing it and have also started using a big ass drawer in my filing cabinet.
I store my sleeping quilt loosely in its large "storage" sack. I keep my sleeping pad rolled up. Is it better to store it unrolled?

In the past week I've gotten rid of 3 bags, 2 packs, a Jetboil, a 3 person tent (that'll come home eventually), a pack cover, mug and spoon, 2 food bags (not JJ's), two dehydrated meals, and two rolls of TP.

When I get home that may be a plop day and the pack is just dumped on the floor.

It is none of my business, but that first sentence leads me to think that you are single (or else have a very understanding wife).

You obviously have not had to use oak leaves in the winter or you'd understand.

Oak leaves? In winter? What, you can't use a snowball?
(Seriously, it cleans better than just about anything, and you get used to it.)
