Quote from LIhikers: “Anybody know a good way to cut pages out of the book? I need the section from Georgia to West Viginia, which is the front half of the book. There's also a few pages at the very back that I'd like to keep too. If at all possible I'd like the front half to stay bound together. Any suggestions? ” microwave the book. Start with 30 seconds and slowly increase the time until the glue is soft enough for you to pull out the section that you want. Say what you want is 15 pages, put …

Hiking plan for 2024
PostQuote from LIhikers: “Even though my leg isn't fully healed yet I can't help but think about our plan to hike the southern half of the A.T. in 2024. We're thinking to start either in Harper's Ferry or Washington DC and hike to Springer Mt. In the past I've always used the AT Companion to plan our section hikes and the one I have now is from 2021 so I need a new, updated guide. Are there any trail guides set up specifically for people going SOBO on the AT ? ” Yes, AWOL makes a southbound version.…

Quote from Astro: “Quote from jimmyjam: “On the plane today I met a chemical engineer who is one of the people who works on bullet proof fabrics and dyneema. ” I am sure that was an interesting conversation. ” Meh, mostly he wanted to talk about the new fabric for bullet proof vests that can stop those armor piercing bullets. It's a fabric with a ceramic outer layer.

I went on a short overnighter last week to Hightop Mountain in the SNP. In the morning while sitting on the throne in the hut's privy (no joke), a squirrel runs by, obviously terrified, and dives into a hole at the bottom of a tree about 15 feet in front of me. I start looking up the tree to see if the squirrel comes out another hole when I saw this magnificent barred owl.If he had not moved his head I probably wouldn't have seen him, he blended in that well. And he never flew. We stared at each…

Grand Canyon
PostThe wife and I rode the mules to PR and back. The saddles were old and hard and the wranglers made the mules trot the whole way between breaks. They do not ride as well as a horse. While I enjoyed it, I swore I'd eat a mule before I rode another.appalachiantrailcafe.net/index…24aa366e958853eb56bb83f0b
