Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon is as fancy as I get these days, and Costco's been carrying it. About $12 per bottle. It's Napa valley.

Napa hate? First I've heard of it. I'm always the last to know.
As for New York State wines, I grew up in Rochester so I'm familiar. My parents used to favor Widmers Lake Niagara (a fairly sweet white wine) and there was always some of that around on holidays. Toured the Widmers Winery (in Naples, NY) etc. -
One of my upstate NY favorites was Logan Ridge port, and I'm not normally not a port fan, 18% alcohol and very tasty, my wife's all-time favorite meal was there and she still beats herself up for leaving the doggie bag she had saved for the following day.I may grow old but I'll never grow up.

Airplane Food - True Story
Airborne approximately thirty minutes on an outbound evening flight from Dublin, , the lead flight attendant for the cabin crew nervously made the following painful
announcement..: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm so very sorry
but it appears that there has been a terrible mixup one...
Minute prior to takeoff, by our airport catering
service... I don't know how this has happened but we have 103passengers on board and, unfortunately, only 40 dinner
meals...
I truly apologise for this mistake and inconvenience."
When passengers' muttering had died down, she continued.. ,
"Anyone who is kind enough to give up their meal so that
someone else can eat will receive free, unlimited drinks for
the duration of our 5 hour flight."
Her next announcement came 90 minutes later... "If anyone
would like to change their minds, we still have 40
dinners available."Changes Daily→ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫ ← Don't blame me. It's That Lonesome Guitar. -

I'm sipping on a glass of Trader Joe's Merlot - not bad at all for $4.95 a bottle.
Sounds okay. Years ago I met a guy who used to drink wine that cost 90 cents per gallon. He started buting 90 cents a quart wine and felt he had come up in the world.
We told him rot gut was rot gut, didn't matter hat he pad for it.
One of them was Bali Hai wine, and th other was Red Rooster.
About that time I had tried Ripple once... never again. This would have been about 1970.--

But the liquor stores have stepped up their game in the last 6 months...dramatically increased their selection of both wine and beer. I'll probably continue to buy wine at the liquor store.Lost in the right direction. -
In Virginia, about 1970, you buy some wines and most beers in a supermarket. The test in a state run package store. And I had to know what I wanted. Nothing where you could see it. If you asked for a pint. They would then go in the back and check. If out of pints and had only fifths you would never know unless you asked for them to check for both pints and fifths.
Texas it's by county. Some you can only buy beer. Some no liquor of any kind. Some supermarket sells beer. The rest is sold in privately owned package stores. Very confusing and apparently some people act like Prohibition is still the law.--

Of course that requires a lot of drinking if you have a pitcher full

its Ripple that is bad for you.
Some state laws don't allow mail order wine sales. I like Mateus. But it's hard to find due to the store having to order a box of it. One bottle of it typically lasts me a year.--

in MI we get a lot of cherry wine. But we are also a big producer of grape wine too. We are also a top apple state but those are used to make cider. Is there a difference between apple cider and apple wine?
