DUBLIN—In what many record- industry insiders are calling a return to the band's mid-'80s prime, members of U2 announced Monday plans to stare in different directions. Guitarist The Edge said he will stand slightly behind lead singer Bono and stare off to his right, as if gazing purposefully into an uncertain, yet hopeful, future. Bassist Adam Clayton will stare downward, burdened by the weight of injustices all over the world. Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. will look up, as if searching for guidance from a higher power. Lead singer Bono has still not committed to a specific position, saying, "That is a decision I can only make in the actual moment of artistic creation. But it'll be a different direction than the other three, you can count on that, brother!" The multi-directional staring is expected to take place atop a jagged, rocky peak.

"It's like setting a trap for a song, it's like fishing or anything else. You have to be quiet to catch the big ones." - Tom Waits
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -
Tom Waits also has a great snarky schtick when he wants to:

Yeah, I have some of Tom Waits' audio music cassettes. I like that one, the piano has been drinking.
Twilight Zone, interesting the original video. I figured MTV censored it, and didn't realize how much that had done to it
Last I heard, some of the original Video Jockeys were on satellite radio. J.J. Jackson died a while back.
But gosh, I sure do miss Night Flight. 1-2 hours on one band plus interviews. The guy that started it has supposedly been trying to bring it back, but I haven't spotted it yet.--

Fernwood tonight got a small town upset. Between Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi was two small towns. When Gulfport expanded to the Biloxi city limit, those two small towns were changed to Gulfport. One of them was Fernwood. There are still 2-3 places there with Fernwood in their name. The Fernwood Elementary School is gone, closed years ago and torn down after being damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The former mayor of Fernwood would go on the local tv station and state that it wasn't his town being protrayed in the show.--
