Yea too close a single bolt can do this to corn, unfortunate.

I saw a polar bear do this at a zoo. He was playing with a big ball, batting it around. This went on for some time until the ball rolled into the pond surrounding his enclosure. The bear looked at the ball floating out of reach for a while and the walked to the rear of his enclosure. We figured the show was over and was about to leave. Then all of a sudden the bear turned around, made two strides, right toward me and running at full speed he flew into the air across the pond, and did a belly flop directly on top of the ball.

I’ve seen similar results in fields during harvest.
