- An outlet of DTC just opened in our neighborhood. Anyone know anything about their stuff? Worth checking out?

Found one of their jackets in a thrift store a couple of years ago. Liked it so much I found their web site and purchased another jacket. Their fire hose material wears well.
Lest we forget.....

I bought some of their long sleeve, long tail tees shirts for work.
I forget how many years old they are, but I doubt I'll ever have to buy more as they just seem to last and last.
Their prices aren't cheap but there stuff seems to be high quality. -

I have some shirts and pants that I've had for decades. I wear them, among other reasons, to cut wood for my wood furnace.
Last year I stupidly did not wear my Kevlar chaps and just touched my leg. I was FAR more upset that I cut the pants than the stitches in my leg and that I was a fool. I do believe that they would resist an angry beaver because beavers have less teeth than a running chain saw. -
Oh, I used dental floss to stitch them up, the pants not my leg. Both are still working well.

Stopped by last weekend to check them out. May try some of their underwear. Most stuff was heavy dty. Good for durable cold weather use, but maybe not as good for backpacking. They had some nice looking dress shirts that were 85% cotton, 10% wool, and 5% nylon. Not a blend I've seen before. The store had a lounge area in the back with books to read, free coffee, tea, and water bottles. I sat in the cushy lounge chair and read a book on NP Lodges.

The only thing I know about Duluth Trading Company is what I've seen on BTN. Their commercials are on frequently during football and basketball season. Seems it just sells clothing for men who are no longer athletes (that's the most diplomatic description I can come up with ). Love the commercials with the cute beavers.
I thought they just basically sold on-line but your thread had me google and lo and behold there's a store on I96 on the way to 2 of my normal hiking locations. So, I may stop and check them out to see if I can pick something up for my husband. -
BTW, since I started this post I have been back to DTC. I first went when they opened in Nov and they had all their winter clothes out. I returned last spring to check out their summer offerings. I got a pair of trekking pants that I really like (in fact I wore them this weekend). They have become my favorite outdoor pants. Don't recall the fabric, but they are not cotton (so I won't die - remember: cotton KILLS!). They have two zippered back pockets and the front pockets open more on the top than on the side. These help to keep things from falling out. Also there is a generous cell phone pocket on the thigh. I like to carry things in pockets (maybe more than other hikers), so good functional pockets are a priority for me. I have made the mistake of buying trekking pants before that just didn't work for me due to their minimal pockets. I also got a pair of the Underwear, for which they are famous (at least their humorous underwear commercial are famous). They are also quite nice. However this friday they are opening our first REI in town. I am going to the invitation-only preview party on Thursday. I got an invitation because I am special (or maybe because I am an REI member?). DTC doesn't sell gear but I will still go there for clothes, especially as it is only 5 min from home. The REI is across town.
