I just saw this on my Facebook feed. A guy took the GPS trace of his section hike and printed it on a 3D printer. I could see the AT museum doing this of the whole trail as a display. You could color code it by state. Display it in top of a 2D map. The ATC could sell them. All sorts of possibilities.

3D maps are also at the headquarters of GSMNP and Mount Rogers NRA, but not for the entire AT.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does -
