to get back on track, fwiw clark howard recommends dealnews as an online site when shopping for computers. i'm in the market myself, so i signed up for the (multi) daily email of bargains. it's have to be a heckuva bargain for me not to buy at costco, though. i have, however, bought a few things i didn't know i needed until i got the email. led lite bulbs for $2, and a steam mop at 50% off.

Sorry to hear Jim,
you can run this site on your phone... when you pull up the keyboard - hit the microphone and let it use the talk and type feature, works very well provided you enunciate, and are not Scottish.
By the way new Laptops are very cheap due to lack of demand. Just don't do this.

Never saw a dog getting on a laptop. But I have seen a cat do it. Type, meow, type, meow.
I suppose the cat is trying to send a message. That puppy just wants to leave its mark so it knows where its territory is located at.--

i have a 10 year old dell xp desktop that my son wanted to have; i told him it didn't make financial sense to upgrade the operating system, add wireless capability, add memory, etc and that it would make more sense to get a refurb or on sale laptop. the xp is gonna go to the recycling shop when i move some old pictures off of it and clean the hard drive.
i suspect you would have to make the same type of decisions with your vista box.2,000 miler -
