I am curious there are thousands of posts of interest for alcohol stoves and lots of questions.. but little posts or interest in a no fuss UL easy breasy stove... This is UL also.. what are your thoughts... Looking for direction here.

I only saw specs on this gas stove for the first time a few days ago. (A guy on a Bibbulmun Facebook group has one.)
It looks great and I would consider one as a replacement for the Pocket Rocket but I am a bit concerned about it's longevity. Given the Chinese manufacture I would have reservations about the swivel points of the arms lasting. I have been caught before by poor quality control on Chinese manufacture. Other than that it looks a great buy. At the price it's definitely value (but maybe inspect that swivel point and pack a really small nut and bolt or something that can fix it). Due to the heat duct tape would not work if one breaks.

That's cause most burn alcohol.......and some drink it, therefore a wine-beer-whiskey thread.

It is for boil and cook type meals with a smallish pot. Not the most fuel efficient verus other canister stoves..but neither is an alcohol stove.

I used it a fair amount all last summer and fall.

Yup. If I ever hike out your way, or if that regulation starts invading the East, I'll bring a Whisperlite or get a canister stove. Right now, in my area, we get fire bans for a couple of weeks out of the year. There can be horrible fire danger from right after the snow is gone until the understory plants leaf out, but that's not a really long period. We also have a complete fire ban above 3500 feet elevation in NY, but since we also have a camping ban up there, I'm not really tempted to have a fire. I also don't cook among pitch pines, because they are the arsonists of the plant kingdom.

I am off to NH this summer for a few days before meeting my new niece.

For opposite reasons, I'll probably bring an alcohol stove. Easier to fly with, too.
