I have ridden through Glacier six times on the train over the last 10 years. Each time there was less snow on the peaks but it was still very pretty. They put a ranger on the train to tell you what you are seeing out the windows. Someday I might put a break in my trip to get off the train and look around. My Mom lives in Washington so I use Amtrak to visit her. She lives 15 miles from a train station VS over 100 miles to get me at an airport.

Sure beats the views from Harpers Ferry or NYC to Chicago/LR.
Although this summer I was happy to see the Hudson River Bridge at Bear Mountain, since it pouring really when I originally walked across it.The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.
