So did you mess up? Here is your chance to confess to the Cafe. Perhaps they will give absolution. Perhaps they will ask for penance. Whatever, its good for the soul.
I will start:
Forgive me Cafe for I left a trace:
Just got back from a short two-night car camping trip to the Lake Michigan Recreation area (NF campground adjacent to the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness). On our first night, I forgot to put away the bag a marshmallow we were toasting by the campfire. Overnight, some critter got into them. In the morning I found the nearly empty bag of chewed marshmallows and chewed plastic at the edge of the campsite. I threw it in the garbage. To atone for my sin, I picked up a nearby Bud Lite can (most definitely not mine). Ironically, half way around the loop, the LNT Traveling Trainers and their LNT Subaru were camped out, offering LNT training for the wilderness users. I guess I should have talked to them, but I didn't. The trainers have identified the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness as a Hot Spot this year. Now we know why. People like me are spoiling it for everyone. There is now, no doubt, a marshmallow-addicted chipmunk terrorizing the first loop.
