i guess this can go here...
this is a clip of when president nixon called astronauts armstrong and aldrin in the soundstage; nixon was reading from a script whereas armstrong and aldrin had no advance notice that the president was going to call and had nothing prepared to say.

Boomerang channel sometimes shows old Looney Tunes cartoons, but watch out for the lower quality 'Looney Tunes Show' where all the old characters live in suburbia.
Sigh, and the galaxy astronomers decided Pluto, who was named after the Greek god of the underworld, is no longer a planet. The planetologists didn't get to vote.--

The new data may get it reinstated.
There was a school of thought that it was a large "captured" asteroidal object.
Photos clearly show it is planetoid and rocky like the inner planets not a gaseous one like it's neighbors.Resident Australian, proving being a grumpy old man is not just an American trait. -
They also said Pluto hadn't cleared its orbit...
Well, there are Lagrange points in Earth orbit. There are rocks there, so Earth hasn't cleared its orbit either.
The other complaint the galaxy astronomers had was Pluto's orbit crosses Neptune's orbit. I don't see how that makes it a non-planet.--

Thankfully no pictures of the seventh planet, at least not in this thread.

I took a closer look at the seventh planet once, and discovered it was inhabited with Klingons
Not surprisingly, scientists formerly classified it as a gas giant.
In 2011, scientists using the Canada-France-Hawaii telescope discovered the first Trojan, 2011 QF99. This gave scientists reason to look for other asteroids associated with the seventh planet. They found Crantor and 2010 EU65, two more asteroids, which are likely to hang around for millions of years. The post was edited 4 times, last by WanderingStovie ().

The USSR, the USA, and China have driven rovers on Earth's moon and Mars. That's ten rovers, but Pluto is the only dog.
