I find the ATC's web site really helpful, here's a link to the interactve map page with the parking feature turned on. Somewhere they do post reports of vandalism on the site too.

the "obvious" parking spot - CT 341 and schaghticoke road - is specifically mentioned in the atc state guidebook as not recommended overnight.
thankfully, i don't live anywhere near there so i have no personal experience with leaving a vehicle in the area.

There is a nursery right near the metro north AT station and they are very hiker friendly. As long as you let them know from what I remember they will allow you to leave your car in their lot. It would be fine there. Even the train station has a small lot you could probably get away with leaving a car there as wellRIAP
