You get extra points for sticking around long enough to take photos of the rattlesnake. gif.004 I can especially identify with the fact that it was your first time hiking and camping alone. I did the solo thing for my first time last year. It felt like a really huge step to me the because it was the first time I ever hiked and camped by myself. Up to that point, my husband and I had always backpacked together. That year, I had the time off and he didn't, so …

Quote from BirdBrain: “Great report. I may be doing NH by myself this year. I am planning 16 days for it. I do not like to hike any distance alone. Not for fear, but for safety. I like to eliminate as many variables as possible. Hiking with a partner put redundancies in place that offer security. Your snake story illustrates variables that give me pause. • I'll be there Friday to Monday as long as I can get back to my car. Are we shuttling? Should I call George L. for a shuttle? I'll go if snow is forecast but not heavy rain. BTW this tapatalk is pretty cool:) Sent from my SCH-I405 using Tapatalk 2

I got a new jetboil flash & a helinox chair. I've been looking for a decent chair for a while now and have tried a few different ones. I have arthritis in my lower back and can't get up when sitting on the ground with doing this funky roll. Leave it to my dh for finding a chair I hope will work. It sits high enough. Weighs a little more than I'd like ... 2 lbs, but if I can get up without pain or looking like an ass ... it works for me :). Plus my son's gf got me an "as seen on tv" solar charger…
