Hard to say how much new snow there is - The wind keeps blowing it around. Some places in the yard have only a couple of inches of new snow, other places have a couple of feet of new snow because of the drifting. Currently -8* here (-33* with windchill), lots of wind, and a the promise that we will get up a balmy 4* today. A good day to hibernate and work on reading some new books. Dang! Working from home does not allow for snow days. *sigh*

Ok, good point - I hadn't thought about the fact they might think she was running FROM something. :lol: How can I refuse extra credit AND a hiking badge??? When you put it that way... I will write a review of the book just as soon as I finish it. I didn't realize we had a section for that, but I have also not explored this site in its entirety... I will have to head on over there.

So that's where the polar bear ran off to... Just been catching up on work lately and haven't had too much time to stop by the Cafe. Stayed up way too late on New Year's reading Jennifer Pharr Davis', "Called Again." Holy cow! :blink: Not that I would ever want to do the trail that fast... even if I could. It is damn impressive. I know it is not a fair comparison, but can you imagine the looks on the pioneers' faces as she blew on by their wagons? :lol:

Good grief! I wander off for a bit and try and come back, but someone locked the non-existent door... Then, I find my way in here and people are licking lizards and skillets. What happened to the taters?!

Here are my current hiking buddies... My other favorite hiking buddies were my Shelties. They never knew they were small dogs - Both loved the trail and loved just hanging out with me. Holly & Jolly (these hoodlums) are the same way. We always have an awesome time hiking together!

Temp appears to be headed north at the moment. That means I must also get outside and see how much ice I can get off the deck and the roof.

Currently a balmy 34* here... Supposed to get more of the white stuff tomorrow. Wed looks a tad on the chilly side with a predicted daytime high of 0*.
