i'm callin scam on this so called auction.
after no action for a few day, bidder 6 who already had the high bid at $510 suddenly increases the bid this morning to $1,000 (and the date of the bid is shown as 3 days earlier). then newcomer bidder 9 shows up with a bid of $1,001.2,000 miler -

if i understand the rules correctly previous domain owner still has 6 or 7 day to get the domain back for reg. fee + $80. i'm thinking a smart move would be to redeem the domain name then put it up for sale, since $1,500 seems to be the going rate. or is it all a scam like max.patch said?
edit: on the other hand, there's a good chance i'm completely wrong. it just doesn't seem right.

well, the owner isn't a former thru hiker based on some of things said...
"Your waist line could shrink by as much as 3 inches within the first 10 days." -- if that was true i'd start a 10 day hike tomorrow!
"You will need a large number of calories (at least 8,000) for a 10 mile hike every day."
"If you fall off the cliff, don’t panic." -- noobs ask such questions. experienced hikers don't.
"...while two 70 or 100 oz water bottles will give you enough hydration for the hike." -- this is in the day hiking section. he recommends carrying slightly more than 4 or 6 quarts. thats 8 or 12 pounds if my math is correct. and i've never, until now, seen water bottles referenced in 70 or 100 ounce containers. there are places where that much water may be needed, but not on a day hike of the AT.
i could go on but i'm bored so i'll save the rest for others to find.2,000 miler -
You might need the extra calories if you carry six quarts of water.I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does

Just curious...I assume the new owner has access to all member info? Did Trailplace take donations and will the new owner have access to member's financial info?Lost in the right direction.

EDIT: look at it this way - you're not bidding on a website (functioning or not), you're bidding on a name only. The post was edited 2 times, last by chief ().

If you fall off a cliff you're probably dead.
You'll be doing good to eat 3,000-4,000 calories a day. hence the weight loss.
