I think we're the only ones around tonight, JJ.
I've been thinking about visiting my daughter in Hampton at the end of May and hiking in SNP on the way home. The bubble will be going through that area, won't it?
Yes, I think the bubble usually hits the SNP end of May, early June. It should be a good time for your hike as all of the campgrounds and stores will be open. If you've never tried a blackberry milkshake stop by the Loft Mountain Wayside and try one. Doesn't really sound good, but they are. There is a campground store at Loft Mtn about 75 ft off the trail, one at Lewis Mtn campground a few hundred feet from the trail and one at Big Meadows Wayside/campground just a few hundred feet off the trail (unless you walk all the way to the lodge, then you have to backtrack thru the campground 1/2 mile to the wayside store. There maybe still be a small store at the campground showers.). I may be hiking in the area too, I'm trying to knock out everything up to Luray/Front Royal; then I can take a train home from HF or ride the train from home to HF and hike south to Luray. Then next year the smokeys to Newport, VA.
