If the article is correct it sounds like you can kiss Maine good bye. I wonder if the ATC will have anything to say about this. -

Hello Guys,
Sorry I have not posted much this week. Truth is, I had some minor surgery done this week, and it has put me in a bit of a funk. I feel worse, not better. I cannot walk far, which has me worried about my hiking plans for the summer.
But, right now I am in my hammock outside my house. I have slept outside for the past five days. I cannot walk far, but I am part of something bigger than myself. The barred owls call 'who cooks for you?' The coyotes are yipping and howling. They are making some terrible soundsI miss all this when I sleep inside. So right now, this is my hope and optimism. I am lucky to live where I do, to be part of this.
I'm sure things will improve with time. I look forward to every sunrise. To tomorrow!“Of all sad words of tongue or pen,

No worries, I was just having a bit of a pity party for myself last night.
Today I went to work. The walk from the parking lot to my office seemed long, but I am feeling better every day.“Of all sad words of tongue or pen,

Good luck with your recovery, Scotty!
I love what you wrote about being in your hammock and enjoying the night sounds. I can hear those owls and coyotes.
Spending time in a hammock is like a meditation and always helps to quiet my mind and make me feel relaxed. It’s become a daily routine during good weather.Lost in the right direction. -
Speaking of hammocks, I’m waiting for a new one to arrive. It’s just a casual hammock from Grand Trunk. I’m not sure how my tree straps will attach but guess I’ll find out soon.
I’ve been thinking about hammock stands, does anyone have one?Lost in the right direction. -
get well soon. I've been a bit out of touch too, getting some RnR on the outer banks. I picked a bad wee to drive the length on NC to get back to MI.

Got my new hammock rigged up, I love it. Listening to the birds sing. No cicadas yet. The only thing missing is a glass of wine...BRB.Lost in the right direction.

3 best resources I've found for hammocking are:
- hammockforums.net
- Sean Emery's YT videos (aka Shug)
- Derek Hansen's The Ultimate Hang (book, website)
For rain flys, I have a 3m x 3m DD hammocks tarp. It's their baseline model, not the UL SuperLight. I decided I'd upgrade if I really got into it. Haven't had a need yet, but hope to someday. Diamond orientation of rain fly is easiest & quickest, but least protective in blowing rain.
Unfortunately, I found I didn't have the patience for dialing in the fit of an underquilt, so that it neither compressed too much against me, nor was too loose and allowed air gaps. At the end of the day I don't care for that much trial and error effort. I just throw a CCF RidgeRest (25" wide) in there and I'm done with it. It's not as comfy, of course, but it's quick, easy, and insurance in case I have to go to ground (and I have had to, once). - hammockforums.net

There are "Group Hang Outs" in many areas of the USA. Several cottage vendors show up at them and are happy to show you their gear. Meanwhile, the rest of the hammock hangers in attendance would love to show you their set up. One of my hammocks is a Dream Hammock. They are out of Ohio and show up here in Texas at our large fall meet (we book an entire Texas State Park). Join the Hammock Hangers forum, then look at the meet up area which is by region and then state. Many areas also have Facebook groups (Texas Hammock Hangers).Pirating – Corporate Takeover without the paperwork -

No comment necessary; this video speaks for itself.
Can anybody translate the sign? I'm curious what so important that the spectator felt it needed to be said.

ETA: Google knows all:
The crash happened during the first of the race’s 21 stages, in the municipality of St.-Cadou. The sign read, “Allez opi-omi!” — a mix of French and German that roughly translates as “Go, granddad-grandma.” The police said that the woman holding it, who was wearing glasses and a yellow jacket, left the scene before investigators arrived.2,000 miler -

For those of us from MI? Maybe.
But then I've seen questions that seem obvious to me when three contestants from other parts of the country have no clue.
My wife (with two degrees from UofM) asked "Why would they do that?" I say "Duh, They are OSU a$$holes!" -

I have to think it was some kind of joke, I mean no one could really be serious about their arms getting cold when wearing a vest, right ? -
