it’s the middle defenseman fault for pinching in too deep while 3 of his forwards were way deep in a crazy scramble. He let that forward get behind him and the goalie had no choice but to play the puck

Thanks Jake! 33 years I was involved in that game. I miss my friends, I miss the money, I didn’t always have this counter weight. Today’s parent and kids....... I had enough.

I listened to an interview of him yesterday on sat radio on my way to church. Really seemed like a down to earth guy. He clarified a couple things that had been reported -- he did not get paid anything for playing (he said he doesn't know how the $500 figure got reported) and while he used to drive the zamboni full time he now does it just a few times a year to keep his skills current. The host asked him if he hits the concession stands when he is in the stands and drinks beer; he replied he doesn't drink anyway but he eaten a reuben that night. Had a kidney transplant 15 years ago.
When he entered the game his wife posted "f*ck me!!!" on twitter to show her excitement and got 6,000 new followers overnight.
Carolina is flying him in to Raleigh for tomorrows game where he is going to get a heros welcome.2,000 milerThe post was edited 1 time, last by max.patch ().

Here is his wifes twitter page. There is a 1 minute video of him entering the locker room after the game. (3rd post from the top as I post this)
Don't know what she started with, but she is up to 16,400 followers.

Where were you when....
Who can remember where they were when the Miracle on Ice took place 40 years ago?
I was in college. A girl who apparently had a crush on me invited me over to her dorm to make chocolate chip cookies. The game was on the TV in the lounge. As it progressed I became more and more involved in the game and I believe she was a bit put-out I wasn't paying any attention to her. I hope she understands this was a once-in-a-lifetime event. Who knows, if the game hadn't been on the TV, things may have worked out differently -
Is it a bad omen when your top prospect starts out like this? As a Swedish American, I am just a little embarrassed.
