similar to Salt Lake City. Should have had snowpack in the mountains by now but what little accumulated in Sept is long gone. Without sufficient snowpack, skiing will be hurt but more importantly water shortages next spring/summer will occur. Most local reservoirs are now down to 40% of capacity.
Lest we forget.....

Hazy and smoky from area wildfires.
Fire ban and limited water in parts of the Smokies.
"Park officials say several backcountry campsites are without water: 5, 6, 16, 26, 113, Mollies Ridge Shelter, Russell Field Shelter, Spence Field Shelter, Silers Bald Shelter, Double Spring Gap Shelter, and Pecks Corner Shelter. Other campsites may be without water as the drought conditions continue"

I was kinda chilly today as I spent most of the day laying on the ground, working on my wife's new car, a 1978 VW bus.
Chilly air and a chilly ground made for a chilly me.

The world's clouds are shifting toward the poles, and they're getting taller

And moreover, it has shifted in such a way – by expanding subtropical dry zones, located between around 20 and 30 degrees latitude in both hemispheres, and by raising cloud tops – as to make global warming worse.

early this morning i was awakened by a faint sound of water dripping. you know how it is, like water torture. i'd never get back to sleep until i tracked down the drip. after searching the entire house to no avail i realized it was water dripping off the gutters outside. omg, it hadn't rained in over a month i had forgotten how it sounded when raining. slept like a baby thereafter.
