Still hot as hell here. Heat index 105. Low tonight 85. I'm headed to the beach next week where I'll probably hit a cold front with my luck.

tropical storm Gordon at 90 mi south of my house. if track remains the same that's as close as it will come. looking for rain, wind, lots more rain... my snow-bird neighbor is in a tizzy, she asked if she should leave, told her if she waits 4 hours, it won't matter.

I though the snow birds migrated south for winter. If she is there for Labor Day, she must be confused. We are supposed to get Gordon up here in MI on Sunday, so coming back north could be a mistake.chief wrote:

It's finally out of the 90's most days but still no rain in sight. We have had ZERO measurable rain since June. The smoke comes and goes and for the time being there aren't any fires super close by.

We got some very heavy rain today.
It rained on and off, not a steady rain.

Summer returned to North Texas. This week we are back to 95 with a "Feels like" over 100 (high humidity from a tropical system that went into south Texas). They are now (unfortunately) saying rain for Friday and Saturday (When we have a family event....elderly in and out of cars and restaurants.....).
