tennessee paid little ole georgia state $950,000 to come to knoxville for the first game of the season.
it's a win-win situation -- the big school gets a guaranteed win, while the little school gets much needed funds for their football program.
but georgia state refused to play the role of the washington generals...

Saban well known for winning, but not for class. Although I doubt the Spartan fans around here will mind that much.

Every time I see that game I think the TV is broken, but then I remember the field is supposed to be blue.

News flash (if ya slept thru the last decade) -- Odell Beckham Jr is an ass.
He had no business being on the field.
He had no business being in the locker room.
LSU deserves any and all fallout they get from OBJ's actions.
And that goes for all schools: Texas -- give Matthew McConaughey a great ticket if ya want to -- but keep him off the sidelines.2,000 miler -

I like QB Joe Burrows comment the best:
<snip>
Quarterback Joe Burrow said that Beckham gave him real cash after the game, but did not address the money given to Jefferson and Kirklin.
"I'm not a student-athlete anymore so I can say it, yeah," Burrow told Pardon My Take.2,000 miler -
How boring is the college all star game? The color commentator is evaluating the ref's flag throwing technique.

Lost the winniest (and in my opinion the best) NFL coach of all time at 90. Great person also (unlike the best NFL coach now). Favorite quote about him was from Bum Phillips, "he can take his and beat yours, or take your and beat his".
This year I guess the 1972 Dolphins will be popping the chanmpagne without him, but he will definitelywill not be forgotten.

Jim Kiick #21 RIP.
Made the big $$$ with WFL, but still best remembered as Larry Csonka's running mate (side kick) with the perfect Dolphins.

Props to Morehouse (D2) for doing the right thing and being the first scholarship propgram to cancel the 2020 football season. Scholarships will be honored.
Student athletes should not risk their health for our entertainment.

Look for a lot NCAA programs to drop lots of sports if March Madness doesn't happen next year. That is the biggest source of income followed by football bowl games.

The NFL team from DC will now called The Washington Football Team. They were going to use Washington Team Football but the logo was problematic.

But the temporary name "Football Team" is better than what the new Seattle hocky team came up with after taking 2 years and considering 1,200 names -- "Kraken". The Kraken is a mythical sea monster that lives off the coast of Norway and Greenland. What does that have to do with Seattle?2,000 miler
