I dropped by the REI next door to the liquor store in Kennesaw today and replaced the spatula I lost on the last hike, I had my Jetboil fry pan and cooking utensils in a grocery bag where we all had cooked the night before, one of the people (man?) threw it in the trash, I would tell you that anyone picking up a bag with a fry pan and cooking utensils and not thinking that don't feel like trash and throwing them away without looking is a real dumbass but I wont.I may grow old but I'll never grow up.

I didn't realize I bought that much stuff there this year.
I think I want crampons. But want ones that I can wear with my trail runners and my snow/winter/snowshoe boots
Around here, you do NOT want aluminium crampons. You've seen our ice conditions - those patches of sandstone poking out just EAT aluminium crampons.
You need strap-on crampons for pac boots or bunny boots. Step-in crampon bindings work only with plastic mountaineering boots that have lugs that fit the clips.
Virtually everyone I see Out There in the winter that isn't doing serious waterfall ice climbing uses either these or these. Either one will work with just about any kind of boot.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

Anyway, I'm heading to the Adirondacks this afternoon ! Staying at the Loj and going to hike Tabletop. Depending on how Im feeling, and the conditions and because I tend to get lazy when I stay at the Loj, I may go for Giant and Rocky Peak.RIAP -

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

I can't recall the last time I bought something from REI. But I know I became a member about 40 years ago. I wonder if they could find my membership number for me. It's probably carved on a clay tablet in their basement somewhere.

Haven't seen any mail from REI, so maybe I get nothin? But wait, I know I bought a pair of boots there last fall. We had a big batch of mail after to sort through returning from our road trip to Florida, maybe it got lost in the shuffle.

I guess if I had been thinking, I would have special ordered my winter sleeping bag through the local REI. That would have earned me a dividend that I could buy something with.

The EMS in North Conway, NH had the same bag so maybe the local REI would have ordered it for me.
