I'm really sad that I never got down that far when it was open.

Had lunch there with my daughter. And she brought several friends back to show them the beauty of this section. Then my son and a friend hiked the section and stopped in for a break.

The USFS is also looking to decommission the privy. Now that is going too far! If I recall correctly, it is one of the few privies in that section. And I appreciated it.

We stayed there in 2011 and 2018. Both times we were fortunate enough to find a sleeping space on one of the two platforms to the front of the shelter, enjoying the view of the mountains and night sky. The privy seat was totally bedazzled with stick on sparkles. I will miss it when I come through next spring, and I will be sure to stop and remember good times.
