East Hudson, yes. But, just north! I am on Mtn. Taurus, looking down at West Point. Not eggsactly Breakneck ridge, but I will come back. Today Kevin, popolopen torme is where I am headed!
The trails will still be there when it does.
Are you able to walk to work still?
I'm envious of that you know. -

Yeah, I'm still doing at least that. The nice thing there is that I can put in twenty minutes of walking and then get it on ice right away. That's kind of what I'm supposed to be doing anyway - exercise and ice it afterward.I'm not lost. I know where I am. I'm right here. -

Thursday and Friday was our 3rd annual Father/Son hike to the Len Foote Hike Inn near Amicalola Falls SP. This year my brother in law and his son came along. He's a former Eagle Scout but hasn't been on any kind of a hike since 1985. I had told him about the back country lodge as well as what he needed to bring. (Change of socks and undies, toothbrush, water bottle and a few snacks) Despite my advice he finds his old Jansport external frame pack and packs it to the gills. Three pairs of jeans, three different weight jackets, two baseball hats, a soft sided cooler with extra food, two shaving kits and a Bear Grills survival knife. His sons pack was smaller but equally as stuffed. The hike in was filled with stories of all his hiking experience including a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch. Every so often my 10 year old and I would make eye contact and he'd roll his eyes at the stories he was being told. I quietly reminded him to be respectful. My son has been hiking since he was 5, has probably 150 miles on his boots and can spot a BS'r as good as anyone. Despite all this we had a great trip and the weather was beautiful.RIAP

My work crew has been out the past 2 weekends. They were actually out in the Catskills last weekend, and Harriman this weekend...day hikes. Mackenzie and Ov have the grunge that I've had all week. They have slept the last few days and are coughing their brains out. Mine is leaving, I'm still haveing the drenching night sweats, but the chills stopped a few nights ago. I don't need sunglasses driving anymore either.Cheesecake> Ramen

Note: kind of an inside joke on himself for when he 'went into survival mode' in the Florida Keys when I took the girls to the Dolphin Research Center. -

Ov and I go to one of our town parks, and do some loops for three miles. Then an hour later she does another 2 with Mackenzie. Tomorrow she'll be complainin' about all her ailments........ Not that she over did It out the first day. You girls........... You know I love you!

I must get out once a week.... Work weekends are like long days..... But every other I must get out. Connecticut is loaded with day hikes. This one stretch of the Metacomet I had passed by hundreds of times in my life. If you have driven up Interstate 91, you have gaulked at this escarpment every time as I have! It was a very cool walk of 6 miles. Once up on top it roller coasters to each cool cliff. From spot you can see Lawn Guyland to the south, and turn around and there is Mt. Tom in Mass. It was a good dayCheesecake> Ramen

The boys baseball has begun and that means my weekends are now going to be filled with practices and games! Which directly affects me getting out in the woods as much! Last weekend I was under the weather so was unable to get out there. This coming sunday looks promising!RIAP

Today was to be a training day.....it is still raining here in the Nutmeg state. Which is just as well. Friday, my office was a pigstye, so I did the big field day! I sprayed a cleaner on the floor and went and got a bucket and swab. Somehow I stepped on the wet tile and turned my ankle and down I went. No swelling, no Black& blue....but stiff and sore. It is best I rest it....if it was nice out I'd be out getting some miles in and making it worse and it will never heal by the end of June!Cheesecake> Ramen

Take it easy for a while and let things heal.
