James Parrillo has been a major topic of discussion on all the PCT threads these past few years. In 2017 he allegedly kidnapped and raped a PCT hiker, keeping her captive for months. You can read a Backpacker Magazine article on that story here...

Unfortunately, his victim later died in a fire. Parrillo was never prosecuted for these crimes. He continued to frequent the PCT and other trails, causing much fear and concern in these communities.
