Spent a few hrs that day looking for an older woman who got lost from her family near a 14'er. Another hiker I was with found her down a trail to a remote trailhead.....she stayed put when she got there and realized her mistake. He caught back up later.

Farther ahead here about a mile, down in trees, met a horse packer who was out for 3 weeks......doing trailwork. Was a real estate developer from Denver. Spent that evening shooting breeze around his big fire.....and camped nearby to his horses that were tied out. Good early warning system for bear.

    • Ha ha.....maybe if I said misplaced woman........she wasn't lost....she knew where she was....sort of....but she wasn't going back uphill. Guy that found her left her there, and went back uphill ~2 miles, told her family where she was. Then went back to her, and waited with her until they got there with their car a few hours later. They drove him into Lake City, he missed 25-30 mi or so, but being from CO was going to come back and hit it with his wife someday.

      San Juan porn...

    • Just got a taste of the Colorado Trail last summer, but looking forward to going back. Provided I complete the AT this Summer in one piece, I plan to head back and do the the Collegiate Loop at the end of July.

And unless the wife has big plans (perhaps wedding in Japan), plan to do the entire Colorado Trail in 2022 (last week of June to first week of August, unless I can do it quicker).
The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.
