When I worked the Rodeo at Cheyenne Frontier Days, The started it with National Anthem. All buinesses stopped as we all removed our hats & faced where we knew the flag to be at. Majority of people in the walkways did the same. I'd appologize to people in line at the register & say you have to wait a bit, majority did. If they didn't wait I really didn't want their money. It's not political, just paying respest to all those who allow us all to live here with all the rights we enjoy.

When I reffed, at the anthem we would stand behind one team and in front of the other. I was that a**hole ref that called the Captain over and asked him what he was going to do about #s 12 & 7, who were talking and screwing around during the playing of OUR national anthem. Most times there was hell to pay on the bench after that!Cheesecake> Ramen

A year or two ago I was knitting in Starbucks and saw a lady who was also knitting. I walked up to her and started talking but she ignored me. I stood there, awkward and confused. Then realized she had ear phones on. She never looked at me and I slunk back to my seat.Lost in the right direction. -

Got another one for you.
Some years ago my dad was told by mom to go get a live tree for Christmas. He sort of measured the living room. He thought the ceiling was 2 feet more than it was. He bought a tree 12 feet tall for a 7 foot ceiling instead of the 9 foot height he thought it was. He used the same measuring method.
After mom yelled at him he took it outside to trim it down. He cut the top off.
Took a few years before mom let him forget that mistake.--

Talk about paintin' yourself in a corner -
One year I thought I'd do the right thing and buy a real tree with a root ball so I could plant it in the yard after New Year's and start a nice family tradition. Well come time to put the tree out and the thing had soaked up so much water it could not be lifted, not even on my hand truck.
I had to cut down the Christmas tree in the family room and roll the root ball out the french doors. Ha Ha. Artificial after that."Dazed and Confused"

My sister just showed me a photo of a Christmas highly decorated house. The house next door had a sign and an arrow pointing to the highly decorated house.
The sign said ditto.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -
