For the record, in the rare case I carry an "energy" drink I carry powdered Tang with 1/2 teaspoon of morton's lite salt (per 1liter serving) mixed in. Sometimes I throw in a tablespoon of chia seeds as well.
Last trip my energy drink was 2 packets of hot chocolate mix.
