I never know how much to get because some years we get a lot of kids and other years not so many.

Lots of locals here detest Halloween. They call it Fall Festival. Oddly, they think its satanic, but it isn't.
Sigh and I've heard of people who refuse to say 'Hello' because it contains... the word 'Hell'. Gee, and I thought the Texans I grew up with were screwy.--

We burned thru over 200 pieces of candy in 1 hour and 10 minutes. They truck kids into our neighborhood, I live on a pretty flat street at the top of the hill that makes a one mile loop. When we run out, turn out all the lights and lock the door. The kids we know always do the loop first!

We had three giant bags of candy to give out. About 7 trick or treaters came. The other year we ran out in an hour and were handing out breakfast bars before we turned the porch light out. Go figure."Dazed and Confused"

Not in my neighborhood, it must be sealed in a wrapper or the parents won't let the kids touch it. Too many weirdos doing things over the years. No homemade candy apples, popcorn balls or fudge, which were my favorites back in the day.

Alton Brown sez 85% of the candy handed out is homemade...really?

Its just another example of idiocy I don't understand. If they don't want to say Hell, then don't. But pretending its hidden in other words ready to attack them, is absurd.--
