Not vegan, thinks meat comes in plastic wrap. Our nephew raises grass fed beef, I got a quarter cow from him, my husband has not eaten beef at home since. I enjoyed it, fed him chicken! I guess I shouldn't have told him it was the big red steer with the white face?

I only get a new one every few years, and I think this is going to be the year. -
I have no etched in stone plans yet but I have thoughts.
Originally my thought for this year was the Camino de Santiago but I'm going to hold off on that.
Right now I'm strongly considering attending the Flip Flop Festival in Harper Springs in April, believe the dates are April 22-23, then hiking north for at least a few weeks, who knows, might continue for a bit more.
The other thought I have is that the North Country National Scenic Trail has a 2017 100 mile challenge and I'm thinking about doing that in pieces in June, July & August. I've hiked part of it in the past but not because I was intent on hiking that trail; it was because I was doing the Jordan River Pathway. Nice trail and scenery through there. -
I have no plans yet, but in their Christmas card, my daughter's new husband suggest we go hiking together. They live in Raleigh so I'm thinking we meet in Ashville. Wife and daughter hang out in town for a few days while son in law and I hike. Any suggestions for a good section on the AT near Ashville? I would think 3 days at 12 MPD would be about right.

I agree both of those would be good. I would recommend going NoBo on both. I love ending a walk with a good hot meal right there. NOC has the River Bend restaurant, and Hot Springs has a few options including the Iron Horse and a country style place.
Nothing like a great place to eat right on the trail. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

It looks like I am now a PCT section hiker. I hope to do another section in Northern California later this summer. However, at my current rate of hiking this looks to be a 13 year plan“Of all sad words of tongue or pen,

I have about 15 days free to hike and want to finish the C&O between Harpers Ferry & Washington DC, but that is only 60 miles. I suppose I could revisit parts of the AT, C&O, or GAP that I have already seen. Any other suggestions? Winter hike of LHHT?

In a couple of days, on my day off, I'll see if I can find it. -

We're not sure where we'll go but NJ is near the top of the list. -
