texans are prone to exaggerate, and i think ya might have read a press release put out by the texas tourism authority. after the author came back from happy hour.
seriously, do you remember where you read that? i need attribution before i repeat that one!2,000 miler -

i wonder what constitutes a state. is it where the athlete was born, lived most of their life, lives now, or where they train?
and each member of the basketball team got a gold medal. thats 12. does that count as 12 medals in the state tally? or does it count as 1? and if it's 1, then which state gets to claim it?2,000 miler -

Display Spoiler Another bit of equestrian trivia. These are the only Olympic events where men and women compete against each other with no men's or women's events.

I was able to watch the team synchronized swimming because I was dogsitting in Chicago and the kids had an Olympic ap through apple tv where I could rewatch anything that had already aired, as well as live events.

So for the 2024 Olympics, the candidates are:

Budapest
Anyone not routing for LA? Chicago was a finalist for this year's games, but lost out to Rio.
My daughter was VERY glad that Chicago wasn't selected as she works downtown and that would have created a clusterf*** for her.

Today was my personal Olympics..shooting, cycling, and fishing. Dang, it’s tough trying to side cast with an elevated heart rate from cycling.
I barely squeaked by to win the Gold. My prize was a grande, skinny, caramel macchiato (with just two pumps of vanilla) from Starbucks. Yum!Lost in the right direction. -

Did you see a guy on the Russian Curling Team got busted for doping. My first though was why does a curler need to take performance enhancing drugs. Isn't that the one Olympic sport you can do while drinking a beer?

I’ve lost much interest in the Olympics and other sporting events when #1 professionals were allowed to compete and #2 when doping scandals went ballistic..i.e. .Lance Armstrong.

I'm surprised no one commented on the US winning a gold medal in the one sport that is really just speed winter hiking, xcountry sking.
The Glitter Fairy won the only medal the US has received in that sport since 1976.
The US rarely even makes the final and she won after 3 other races, and qualifying, for a combined distance of over a marathon.
Shuffle bored on ice, ah NO.
