Speaking of getting a picture by a sign, today I finally found the camera with the pictures of my son and at Springer back in November 2010. Made sure I transferred to my PC.
Hated the idea of walking almost 2,200 miles and not having a record of where I started. The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Put some of them online here! -
I will try tomorrow. Couldn't even load a video link today. Other than clicking icons (which has not worked for me so far), is there a thread I should read for advice? The road to glory cannot be followed with much baggage.

Would you send a pm to Rasty? I know he's still working on some glitches here. Sometimes I have trouble loading videos, but it seems to clear up sooner or later without my doing anything other than clicking on the video icon same as always. -

That's a wierd looking striped bass. :silly:Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

We don't weigh em in Manitoba. Just measure the length and let them go. We DO take a pic of them too, just don't tell Lone Wolf. He finds no value in trophy pics...............
It was 42" lake trout. I've had fights go over 3 hours and that is with good gear. No, I am not Uncle Si -

Looks like a King Salmon but it looks too healthy to be one.Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

Holy moly! What a monster! I know it's the angle, but that fish looks twice the size of the dog! Are you required to release, or is that just your preference?

It's def bigger than the dog. In northern Manitoba we are required to fish with barbless hooks and release any fish over a certain length limit. We can keep one trout under 23", 4 northern under 30" and 4 walleye under 22". Not 100% sure of the exact inches.
I've been fishing in northern Manitoba for about 20 years and prefer to fish barbless all the time now. I will occasionally go to a barbed hook if I am desperate for a meal.
I didn't go on my Canada trip this year because of my thru. I actually COULD have, but didn't have the "political capital" to pull that off. I may miss next year too due to the JMT.
Pics of my take-home, smaller northern. These are all just under the length limit.:

You could eat for days off the four fish in the picture. I love the way your pup is sitting there with them, like they belong to him or something. That 42 inch fish is just amazing.

They got "real" bears up there too. I would NOT be sleeping with my food up there if I was a solo.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess around in an area where the bears are really wild and where food is actually scarce.Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them. -

I have never caught a fish in my entire life and I was raised in Florida. I have caught gators though. I think there is more action in gator hunting. A guy like me, one who is highly hyper active, can not just sit around waiting for something to bite his hook. I do not hunt, well, anything besides gators during gator season. Have you ever heard of our Floridian Skunk Ape? It is supposed to be the swamp edition of Big Foot. I have never seen one or met anyone who has, but I know a guy who claims that he has seen one. He owns the Big Cypress Swamp Campground on U.S. 41 between Naples and Miami. It is considered the Skunk Ape Research Headquarters. I call his "Headquarters" a tourist trap, but the campground is stellar if you are into swamps."You might not get everything you want out of life, but you will get exactly what you need!"-Dakota Joe 2006
