Can't wait. Next month the 9-12 I'll be doing the lakeshore trail. I plan on getting a line wet on all fish'n creeks plus lake fishing once at the campsites. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather!
I've thought about going back again and fishing, don't recall the camp number but about 7 miles from Fontana is great looking spot.I may grow old but I'll never grow up. -

Sounds like campsite 90. I guessed it to be 6 1/2. That will be our last night. We're staying at 98,81, and 90.
I never learned to fly fish. So I'll use an icefishing rod and a cheap collapsable rod.i might leave the collapsable at home and use my bass rod for the lake. It brakes down in two and I was think'n I could zip tie them to each trekking pole. -
You really don't need to know how to fly fish. A regular cane pole with line no longer than the cane itself is all you need. Don't believe me? Watch the guys flyfishing these streams and the ones that know what they are doing will be roll casting. You don't need a reel to roll cast, in fact it's a hindrance.
Put this on the end of it. You can thank me later.
