Quote from Traffic Jam: “My newest thing is that I want to learn to make homemade tortillas…mainly corn. I tried to make them yesterday and they sucked and ended up in the trash. It’s harder than you might imagine. Today was a little more successful although only a few puffed up while cooking. I don’t have a tortilla press so used a pot, skillet, and a freezer bag cut in half. ” I use a 1" diameter wooden dowel as a rolling pin. Never tried corn I only made flour I use that for tortillas, I also…

A certain NFL player had stated that he didn't need the shot because he's "Not sick with COVID" (exhibiting no idea about a Vaccine versus treatments). My doctor rolled his eye's and said "just remember, their JOB description includes a regular pounding of their head into the football field". ” Just sat thru our yearly health insurance enrollment presentation. Part of the changes is that you're charged m…

So what you're really saying is you got a 22 GB plan. I pays $35 for 10 GB (yeah it's unlimited 3G too once you get there). And if I think I'm going to use it up I'll buy another $10 of data. Only time I'll use it up is if I do a lot of driving and listening to streaming music in a month.

Was listening to a rodent gnaw on a shelter one night a few weeks back. It was just me in the shelter so I shine in my light up there to see what it was, expecting the usual shelter mouse. It was a flying squirrel. Kind of cute. Gnawing wood peg down to nub. Majority of the wood pegs for hanging packs etc were gnawed down to nubs.

Shame that lack of judgement in unfamiliar circumstances, is so unforgiving. Although it do seem that all.....at same place...is unlikely. They were very close to their car.... If you have t read the book " Off the wall: Death in Yosemite", its a good read. Chronicaling all known deaths in the park ......~950 ish of them. Unbelievably easy to die in environments where people are just unfamiliar with the risks, and misjudge them. I observed a lot of people dayhiking to popular overlooks on AT fro…

Too bad , pretty young. He was Henry on bosom buddies. I couldnt stand Tom Hanks back then on that show..loud and goofy.....but he turned into a really great actor and one of my favorites ( and everybody elses too)

  • Yeah there's plenty of data on bears getting food in Georgia..... Virginia has done a good job installing a lot of bear boxes. Or maybe PATC. I was south of Harpers Ferry a while back, and tentsites near a shelter even had small metal box...... However I think a good size bear could have removed the entire structure that the small metal box was attached too

  • Need to make it required. People will get used to it. Wildlife will be better off. Some people will stay away do the trouble and expense, they will go weekend camp elsewhere. AT is too accessible, too easy with shelters. Too much use today in several areas. In those areas people use need to be discouraged and the wildlife needs to be protected more. Win- win

I bring same stuff everytime so only thing i really need to give attention is starting food and resupplies. Rest i procrastinate on. When driving, Quite a few times i have just put all my gear needed in a cardboard box , with some alternate options. Then I actually decide what I'm going to bring and pack in the hotel the night before. Being able to procrastinate and leave stuff in the truck just makes it less likely for me to pack ahead of time Because of this somewhat haphazard approach even th…

But even past that, if you have a concept of right or wrong....... I really couldn't care less how much trouble you have controlling yourself.

Nice young lady too .She was one overlooked. Thats what a D2 has to luck into to really be competitive. Not common. Of course, she didnt stay overlooked. And thats the problem.
