The funny thing about that picture is the Z-rest! I had backpacked plenty in the Scouts, but on one of our first Force Marches I saw this Lt. with this rolled up sheet of styrofoam. As soon as I got out and started hiking for pleasure I went out and bought one........then in 85 this company in Washington came out with a blow up one!!!!! I still have it, but it is for car camping now!

Prior to our last walk in the ADK, I got the short clear plastic one. Lots of room for what I bring for 4/5 days. Then as we left HB gave me his Large Ursack. It is way big, I would like to cut it and make it shorter, but I haven't looked yet for sufficient kevlar thread to do the job. So really only have one night carrying the can...'cause we changed our plan and I left it with lots of food in the Fish Car!

The original MLK walk was north on the AT from Cornwall Bridge to the Mohawk trail (old AT) at Falls Village High School, SOBO on that to Mohawk Ski area. HB and I think that maybe much less crowded.....maybe

So a few of us have chatted about going ON MLK weekend this year. Awesome all around. But, cause of the Covid Harriman has been trashed and we are thinking about a different venue this year. I am putting it out here for suggestions. .....................................Discuss!

We are getting rain today, first time in over a week.................We got an *ALERT* from town this past weekend. I did not work at all in 19, for many reasons. I had planned to start up again this year.....but...... the Rona put that on hold. They are out working again, but now I have this new house that needs work every weekend!
