  • I suspect everyone is different. I lost a dog when I was a minor. I told my neighbors, I cried, and then I was fine. I have carried other pain for most of my life, but it has nothing to do with death. If you blame yourself or someone else for your loss, it is much harder to move on. I hope that is not your case.

Held it in my hand for a while and it didn't move and it's dried and hard. ” I just realized how that sounds,,,it was definitely unintentional. Sorry if it upset anyone's sensibilities. ” Damn!!!...I've found a woman who's mind is deeper in the gutter than mine! ” TJ's bread is sponge-worthy.

If there's a breeze and no rain, line up the ridge line with the wind to stay cooler. If the head end is higher than the foot end, point the head end into the wind so the wind makes the sides billow out.

Quote from NoAngel: “Does anyone bikepack by just putting on their hiking backpack and riding their bike? I would like to do it but I don't want to buy a bunch of new gear. I'm used to having sweaty back with a pack on it. ” I do it by loosening the shoulder straps. You may want to carry less weight than you would hiking. • I've been sleeping in a OR Helium body bag plus two layers of nylon (jackets and pants). The weather is too warm for a sleeping bag, liner, blanket, or even a sheet. I shiver a little in early morning, but get up before the sun, sometimes at 4:30 AM. The bivy has a five-segment pole arch across the chest, which is nearly useless IMO, since it does not keep the bug net off my head. I wear a visor and a hood to minimize bites through the mesh. The Pertex shield worked well in heavy rain, but there…
