Still have, and use, a fair amount of EMS branded equipment. The avy shovel and my beater down coat are with me on a lot of trips in particular. (Which reminds me, I really, really, really, need to clean that coat. ) When I was in Rhode Island, it was a "real" outdoor store not far away.

signed up for two multi-day trail work trips. One on the CT in June and another one on the CDT in July. I love multi-day trail work trips. The sense of camaraderie is usually high.

Katahdin is an iconic mountain. Easily the best finish of the triple crown trails. But unless you just want something to hang on the wall, you don't have to finish there. The new Katahdin Woods and Waters NM looks pretty cool.
