Hey y'all. My understanding is one of our 2 remaining ridgerunners found her and called authorities. But the laughing part makes me wonder if someone else called it in first? The RR was really shaken up and is the most professional guy I've worked with. Why the hell would someone call in laughing? Think maybe they were crying and it sounded like laughter? It's a shocking way to take your own life. So sad.

Top 6 Day Hikes on the Southern End of the Appalachian Trail ” All your writings are very well done...if I didn't know better I'd think you was a teacher. ” Thanks! I had 11 years of it in me, 'tis all. Not sure what I am now.

Quote from Wise Old Owl: “Quote from twistwrist: “Shudder. Getting lost in the woods is a fear of mine...like that some people would have trapped in an elevator. I always wonder if I'd panic too. ” Learning to get "over our fears" is a passage. Part of being human. Years ago I was afraid of heights, when I saw a younger brother go off the high dive I got over myself and did it. Then I went on to scrambling buildings to 3rd and fourth floors on the outside without rope. Do your best and push your…

No, not really. That's like my plan "F" if A-G fall through. Teaching sucked the life out of me...that was doable when there was a little creative freedom for teachers in a classroom, but these days, the system is screwed and everyone is miserable...kids, teachers, parents, etc. We test, test, test, and no longer are teachers allowed to design their own unit tests, but we're given each mandatory test from the county so in essence, our job is to teach to that so kids can pass the test, make a pas…

Soooo, though I've made the decision to stay at home, work and save money, and love on my old pup as long as I can, the universe may have other plans. Read world has been schitty...finding a job has been impossible so far. I'm going to give it through June. If I'm unable to find work, rather than sit at home and wallow in self-pity, I'm going to hike about 1,500 miles of the PCT and wallow there. Let the research begin.
