NONE of the answers given are correct. The question incorrectly assumes all of Doyle's hikes have been thru hikes. One half of his completions have been section hikes. Doyle has also NEVER done what thousands of other hikers have done -- which is to hike the AT from terminus to terminus while carrying his own gear without vehicle support. ALL of his thrus have been vehicle supported. Doyles number of completed hikes are impressive on their own merit without the need to incorectly embellish them.…

Well, it is a "foot bridge" -- and the longest foot only bridge on the AT -- but the "foot" part refers to Bill Foot who was responsible for getting the bridge built and who the bridge is dedicated to.
