    I had a bike with 20-inch wheels and a banana seat. I created a rear suspension with coil springs replacing the bolts joining the sissy bar to the frame. Then I converted it to a five speed by re-lacing the rear wheel.

    Wrap the string around angle iron, molding, or a corner protector and run scissors up the trough for consistent size. Or use a cardboard core you can easily slice through.

    There's a nice library in Hanover with internet access and a hardware store with denatured alcohol. I recommend the hostel in Glencliff, where you can probably slack pack the next mountain north.
